The Wheego all-electric car was developed in Atlanta, Georgia, by Wheego Electric Cars Inc. The company was founded in June 2009 by Mike McQuary, a former executive at EarthLink. Wheego's first car, the Wheego Whip, was a two-seat, low-speed vehicle (LSV) that was launched in August 2009. The Whip had a top speed of 25 mph and a range of up to 40 miles on a single charge. It was priced at $19,995.

In 2010, Wheego launched the Wheego LiFe, a four-seat, highway-capable electric car. The LiFe had a top speed of 75 mph and a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge. It was priced at $32,995.

Wheego struggled to gain traction in the electric car market. The company's cars were relatively expensive, and they faced competition from larger, more established automakers such as Tesla and Nissan. In 2013, Wheego filed for bankruptcy.

Despite its short-lived existence, Wheego played a role in the development of the electric car industry. The company's cars helped to raise awareness of electric cars and to pave the way for the more affordable and practical electric cars that are available today.
